Meade LPI acronimo di Lunar Planetary Imager è una camera stile webcam molto molto interessante per tutti coloro fossero interessati ad approfondire e sperimentare l'astrofotografia low cost.

Questa camera, infatti, ad un prezzo contenuto permette di dedicarsi all'osservazione planetaria e dunque alla fotografia in maniera eccellente.

La LPI ha un sensore CMOS a risoluzione VGA da 640x480 e permette di eseguire anche lunghe esposizioni, in modo tale da poter intercettare il segnale di oggetti quali cluster, nebulose e tanto altro.

Cosa sicuramente di grande apprezzamento da parte dell'utente, sarà sicuramente la possibilità di collegare tale telecamera direttamente al nostro pc o mac tramite porta usb per l'acquisizione delle immagini. Non solo, sarà possibile comandare il motore del nostro telescopio tramite porta seriale RS232.

Faccio menzione anche del software a corredo, "Autostar suite", il quale permette di mettere in pratica tutte queste operazioni in totale semplicità e comodamente seduti davanti al nostro computer.

L'immagine finale sarà sottoposta, se lo desideriamo, ad ulteriori modifiche per migliorarne la definizione, la qualità ed il contrasto per risultati ottimali.

Ottima la possibilità di visualizzare l'istogramma per cogliere in pieno ogni piccola sfumatura dei canali RGB ed ottenere così una foto dell'oggetto osservato davvero eccellente.

Consiglio, per esperienza personale, questa telecamera, ottimo inizio verso la ripresa di oggetti planetari ma anche di profondo cielo.

Meade LPI stands for Lunar Planetary Imager is a very interesting webcam style camera for all those interested in deepening and experimenting with low cost astrophotography.

This room, in fact, at a reasonable price allows to dedicate itself to planetary observation and therefore to photography in an excellent way.

The LPI has a CMOS sensor with a resolution of 640x480 VGA and allows to perform even long exposures, so as to intercept the signal of objects such as clusters, nebulae and more.

What surely of great appreciation from the part of the user, will surely be the possibility to connect this camera directly to our pc or mac through usb port for the acquisition of the images. Not only that, it will be possible to control the motor of our telescope through the RS232 serial port.

I also mention the accompanying software, "Autostar suite", which allows you to put into practice all these operations in total simplicity and comfortably seated in front of our computer.

The final image will be submitted, if we wish, to further modifications to improve its definition, quality and contrast for optimal results.

Excellent the ability to view the histogram to fully capture every little nuance of the RGB channels and get a really excellent photo of the object observed.

I recommend, from personal experience, this camera, an excellent start towards the recovery of planetary objects but also of deep sky.
